Bolat Nazarbayev Public Foundation planted 1,000 trees in Shamalgan.
The founder of the fund Bolat Nazarbayev, volunteers, journalists took part in the landscaping. In order to instill careful attitude to the environment in children, 20 pupils of the center "Bereke Uyi" at the "Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation)" Fund were involved in planting.
On the territory of the village of Shamalgan, Almaty region, Bolat Nazarbayev Public Foundation "Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation)" planted 1,000 seedlings of different tree species. The campaign for planting green spaces is dedicated to the Year of Volunteers in Kazakhstan.
New trees were planted along the central streets of Jibek Joly and Aljan ana of the village of Shamalgan. The following types of trees were chosen for planting: poplar, pine, maple, dogwood, fir- trees, mountain ash, elm-tree, willow, catalpa, nine-bark, ash-tree, starry. As the engineer of the garden and park Yulia Omarova said, the types of green spaces were not chosen by chance. Most of the tree species have a high ability to absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, as well asnoise isolation, which will favorably affect the ecology of the area in the future

"Drought-resistant plants were selected, those that could withstand a large load along the road. It was decided to plant deciduous plants, as they cooled the air. Red poplar does not give fluff and emits oxygen most of all. It absorbs well all harmful gases, purifies the air. There will be less dust and dirt," Yulia Omarova explained.
She also added that shrubs were planted for the improvement of the territory, from which interesting compositions would be made in the future. In general,unpretentious plants, requiring minimal care, were selected.
