1,000 laptops have been distributed to children from large families in Almaty and Almaty region

Bolat Nazarbayev Public Foundation"Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation)" signed a memorandum with the education departments of Almaty and Almaty region on the transfer of 1,000 laptops for schoolchildren from low-income, large families.

With the transition to a distance learning format for children from low-income families, there is an urgent need for technology. Therefore, the foundation decided to purchase 1,000 laptops equipped with all the functions that would help children in learning. All laptops have video cameras that will allow laptop owners to connect to Zoom conferences anywhere and not to miss classes.

"Now there is a very difficult period for the whole country. We must learn to live in the new conditions. And most importantly, help each other. Recently, a government instruction has been announced that all students who do not have laptops for distance learning should be provided with technology before the start of the school year. For our part, we decided to help children from two regions. We wish the children excellent studies!" - said the head of the fund Kassym Kassabekov.

"We would like to express our deep gratitude to the Public Fund "Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation)" for their help in providing our children with laptops," said Rustam Ali, Deputy Akim of Almaty Region.

In turn, Lyazzat Jylkybayeva, head of the Education Department of Almaty city, thanked the representatives of the fund for supporting children from low-income families. "The first academic quarter will be held remotely. We will give all the laptops received from Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation) Fund to needy families according to the list," she said.

"Bolat Nazarbayev Public Foundation "Saliqaly Urpaq (Decent generation)" transfers 500 laptops to the Department of Education of Almaty in order to help families who cannot afford to buy laptops for one reason or another. Our goal is to contribute to the education of the generation, because the educated generation is the future of the country. Today, with the help of the action, we contribute to the bright future of children and generations," KassymKassabekov said.

During the event, large families of Alatau, Nauryzbai, Turksib districts were presented with new computers.

"During the distance learning, the Akimat of Almaty helped us a lot. We were given two laptops and two SIM cards from school. Since I have 6 children, unfortunately, two laptops for training were not enough for us. And now we have been presented with another laptop from "Saliqaly Urpak" fund. We are very grateful. I think this will help my children achieve high results in their studies," Janylsyn Otbaeva, a mother of six children, thanked.

Let us recall that since the beginning of the academic year, all schools in Almaty have been transferred to a distance learning format in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

By order of the Akim of Almaty Bakytjan Sagintayev, work is underway to provide 77 thousand teachers and students with computer equipment at the expense of budget funds. To date, about 50 thousand have been given. The remaining equipment will be given by September 15. Appropriate explanatory work with parents is carried out.
